Paris Exposition Universelle 1900 Cookies

14 Oct

Bonjour!

Last week my cousin got back from her trip trough France and brough me as a present a box full of cookies.

So I though why not do the same thing as I did to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Cookies and show you how they came and how they were.

First of all, unfortunately I don’t have  a recipe to this cookies, what I can say is that they are rather similar to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Cookies in which post you can find my recipe version. There is also the company site, where all sweets look delicious, but for what I could see they don’t sell outside France, unless you can find a franchise of the store. Really sad about it 😦

So, let’s start talking about theses yummy, delicious cookies. They have a crunchy texture and a shine to them in the exterior, that i will guess as a beaten egg brushed on the top before going to the oven and are finished with these classic but slightly rustic cuts. Of course, I just find this even more likeable, instead of the commercial ones, that you can see clearly that they were made just with a machine (nothing wrong with that, just prefer like this).

They came in a metal box, inside a plastic bag, and inside of it you would find several plastic bags with sets of 2 cookies in each one of them. All very nice put together and well packed. It has a beautiful drawing in the exterior of the box, representing the 1900 Universal Paris Exposition, with the Eiffel Tower, people dressed according to that time fashion and a view over Paris itself, with the river. Quite stunning, if I may say so. Then at the sides you have images of  several known monuments.

My advice is if you ever go to France in holidays/business/whatever and you want to bring something for someone special or if you just want a treat for yourself don’t miss on going to one of these amazing little stores and buy a box. Also since it’s metal and it has those gorgeous drawings, keep it has a memory or as decoration.

Thanks to France for making this amazing culinary delight and to my cousin for bringing it to me. 🙂

And feel free to write any questions you might have in the comment box below.

Lots of love,
